The kingwentto Gibeonto sacrificethere,for that was the greathighplace;Solomonoffereda thousandburntofferingson that altar.
Zedekiahwas twenty-oneyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedelevenyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'snamewas Hamutalthe daughterof Jeremiahof Libnah.

"The prophetwhohasa dreammay relate[his] dream,but let him whohasMy wordspeakMy wordin truth.Whatdoes strawhave [in common] with grain?"declaresthe LORD.
In the beginningof the reignof Zedekiahthe sonof Josiah,kingof Judah,thiswordcameto Jeremiahfrom the LORD,saying--
I spokewordslike alltheseto Zedekiahkingof Judah,saying,"Bringyour necksunder the yokeof the kingof Babylonand servehim and his people,and live!
and sendword to the kingof Edom,to the kingof Moab,to the kingof the sonsof Ammon,to the kingof Tyreand to the kingof Sidonby the messengerswho cometo Jerusalemto Zedekiahkingof Judah.
Hananiahspokein the presenceof allthe people,saying,"Thussaysthe LORD,'Evensowill I breakwithintwofullyearsthe yokeof Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonfrom the neckof allthe nations.'"Then the prophetJeremiahwenthis way.
So Hananiahthe prophetdiedin the sameyearin the seventhmonth.
Then the prophetJeremiahspoketo the prophetHananiahin the presenceof the priestsand in the presenceof allthe peoplewho were standingin the houseof the LORD,
"Becauseyou have said,'The LORDhas raisedup prophetsfor us in Babylon'--
he wentdownto the king'shouse,into the scribe'schamber.And behold,allthe officialswere sittingthere--Elishamathe scribe,and Delaiahthe sonof Shemaiah,and Elnathanthe sonof Achbor,and Gemariahthe sonof Shaphan,and Zedekiahthe sonof Hananiah,and allthe [other] officials.
While he was at the Gateof Benjamin,a captainof the guardwhose namewas Irijah,the sonof Shelemiahthe sonof Hananiahwas there;and he arrestedJeremiahthe prophet,saying,"You are goingoverto the Chaldeans!"
"Wherethen are your prophetswhoprophesiedto you, saying,The kingof Babylonwill not comeagainstyou or againstthisland'?
That whichcameas the wordof the LORDto Jeremiahthe prophetconcerningElam,at the beginningof the reignof Zedekiahkingof Judah,saying:
The messagewhichJeremiahthe prophetcommandedSeraiahthe sonof Neriah,the grandsonof Mahseiah,when he wentwith Zedekiahthe kingof Judahto Babylonin the fourthyearof his reign.(Now Seraiahwas quartermaster.)
"They seefalsehoodand lyingdivinationwho are saying,'The LORDdeclares,'when the LORDhas not sentthem; yet they hopefor the fulfillmentof [their] word.
With their wickednessthey makethe kingglad,And the princeswith their lies.
ThenJoshuaspoketo the LORDin the daywhen the LORDdeliveredup the Amoritesbeforethe sonsof Israel,and he saidin the sightof Israel,"O sun,standstillat Gibeon,And O moonin the valleyof Aijalon."
