"Micahof Moreshethprophesiedin the daysof Hezekiahkingof Judah;and he spoketo allthe peopleof Judah,saying,'Thusthe LORDof hostshas said,"Zionwill be plowed[as] a field,And Jerusalemwill becomeruins,And the mountainof the houseas the highplacesof a forest."'
Have you not heard?LongagoI didit; From ancienttimesI plannedit. NowI have broughtit to pass,That you should turnfortifiedcitiesinto ruinousheaps.
However, Hezekiahhumbledthe prideof his heart,both he and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,so that the wrathof the LORDdid not comeon them in the daysof Hezekiah.
He spokein the presenceof his brothersand the wealthy[men] of Samariaand said,"Whatare these feebleJewsdoing?Are they going to restore[it] for themselves? Can they offersacrifices?Can they finishin a day?Can they revivethe stonesfrom the dustyrubbleeven the burnedones?"
O God,the nationshave invadedYour inheritance;They have defiledYour holytemple;They have laidJerusalemin ruins.
O mountainof Mine in the countryside,I will giveover your wealthand allyour treasuresfor booty,Your highplacesfor sinthroughoutyour borders.
"Babylonwill becomea heap[of ruins], a hauntof jackals,An objectof horrorand hissing,withoutinhabitants.
"I will makeJerusalema heapof ruins, A hauntof jackals;And I will makethe citiesof Judaha desolation,withoutinhabitant."
The wordof the LORDwhichcame[to] Micahof Moreshethin the daysof Jotham,Ahaz[and] Hezekiah,kingsof Judah,whichhe sawconcerningSamariaand Jerusalem.
Therefore,on accountof you Zionwill be plowedas a field,Jerusalemwill becomea heapof ruins,And the mountainof the temple[will become] highplacesof a forest.
And it will comeabout in the lastdaysThat the mountainof the houseof the LORDWill be establishedas the chiefof the mountains.It will be raisedabovethe hills,And the peopleswill streamto it.
"Thussaysthe LORD,'I will returnto Zionand will dwellin the midstof Jerusalem.Then Jerusalemwill be calledthe Cityof Truth,and the mountainof the LORDof hosts[will be called] the HolyMountain.'
