Then the captainof the guardtookSeraiahthe chiefpriestand Zephaniahthe secondpriest,with the threeofficersof the temple.
the fifteenthfor Bilgah,the sixteenthfor Immer,
and Azariahthe sonof Hilkiah,the sonof Meshullam,the sonof Zadok,the sonof Meraioth,the sonof Ahitub,the chiefofficerof the houseof God;
His officersalso contributeda freewillofferingto the people,the priestsand the Levites.Hilkiahand Zechariahand Jehiel,the officialsof the houseof God,gaveto the priestsfor the Passoverofferings2600[from the flocks] and 300bulls.
And you, Pashhur,and allwho livein your housewill gointo captivity;and you will enterBabylon,and thereyou will dieand thereyou will be buried,you and allyour friendsto whomyou have falselyprophesied.'"

Then the officialswere angryat Jeremiahand beathim, and they puthim in jailin the houseof Jonathanthe scribe,which they had madeinto the prison.
As they were speakingto the people,the priestsand the captainof the temple[guard] and the Sadduceescameup to them,
Nowwhenthe captainof the temple[guard] and the chief priestsheardthesewords,they were greatly perplexedaboutthem as to whatwould comeof this.
