and you shall say,'Behold,your servantJacobalsois behindus.'" For he said,"I will appeasehim with the presentthat goesbeforeme. Then afterwardI will seehis face;perhapshe will acceptme."
"Pleasetakemy giftwhichhas been broughtto you, becauseGodhas dealtgraciouslywith me and becauseI haveplenty."Thus he urgedhim and he took[it].

So Judahand Israellivedin safety,everymanunderhis vineand his figtree,from Daneven to Beersheba,allthe daysof Solomon.

When he returnedto the manof Godwith allhis company,and cameand stoodbeforehim, he said,"Beholdnow,I knowthat thereis noGodin allthe earth,but in Israel;so pleasetakea presentfrom your servantnow."
He who tendsthe figtreewill eatits fruit,And he who caresfor his masterwill be honored.
Drinkwaterfrom your own cisternAnd freshwaterfrom your own well.
untilI comeand takeyou away to a landlike your own land,a landof grainand newwine,a landof breadand vineyards.
Eachof them will situnderhis vineAnd underhis figtree,With nooneto make[them] afraid,For the mouthof the LORDof hostshas spoken.
In that day,'declaresthe LORDof hosts,'everyoneof you will invitehis neighborto [sit] under[his] vineand under[his] figtree.'"
SoI thoughtit necessaryto urgethe brethrenthat they would go on aheadto you and arrange beforehandyour previously promisedbountifulgift,sothat the samewould be readyas a bountiful giftand not affectedby covetousness.
The eldersof Jabeshsaidto him, "Letus alonefor sevendays,that we may sendmessengersthroughoutthe territoryof Israel.Then, ifthereis nooneto deliverus, we will comeout to you."
"Nowlet thisgiftwhichyour maidservanthas broughtto my lordbe givento the youngmenwho accompanymy lord.
