Ephraimhas provokedto bitteranger;So his Lordwill leavehis bloodguilton him And bringbackhis reproachto him.
Davidsaidto him, "Your bloodis on your head,for your mouthhas testifiedagainst you, saying,'I have killedthe LORD'Sanointed.'"
"Then he may havea violentsonwho shedsbloodand who doesanyof thesethingsto a brother
he lends[money] on interestand takesincrease;will he live?He will not live!He has committedalltheseabominations,he will surelybe putto death;his bloodwill be on his own head.
He heardthe soundof the trumpetbut did not takewarning;his bloodwill be on himself. But had he takenwarning,he would have deliveredhis life.
"Then he will turnhis faceto the coastlandsand capturemany.But a commanderwill puta stopto his scornagainst him; moreover,he will repayhim for his scorn.
[There is] swearing,deception,murder,stealingand adultery.They employviolence,so that bloodshedfollowsbloodshed.
They turn,[but] not upward,They are like a deceitfulbow;Their princeswill fallby the swordBecauseof the insolenceof their tongue.This[will be] their derisionin the landof Egypt.
"The statutesof OmriAnd allthe worksof the houseof Ahabare observed;And in their devicesyou walk.ThereforeI will giveyou up for destructionAnd your inhabitantsfor derision,And you will bearthe reproachof My people."
"The LORDyour Godwill raiseup for you a prophetlikeme from amongyou, from your countrymen,you shall listento him.
I will raiseup a prophetfrom amongtheir countrymenlikeyou, and I will putMy wordsin his mouth,and he shall speakto them allthat I commandhim.
"You shall becomea horror,a proverb,and a tauntamong allthe peoplewherethe LORDdrivesyou.
"Thereforethe LORDGodof Israeldeclares,I did indeedsaythat your houseand the houseof your fathershould walkbeforeMe forever;but nowthe LORDdeclares,'Farbe it from Me-- for those who honorMe I will honor,and those who despiseMe will be lightlyesteemed.
