Those whomI love,I reproveand discipline;thereforebe zealousand repent.
But when we are judged,we are disciplinedby the Lordsothat we will not be condemnedalongwith the world.
Blessedis the manwhomYou chasten,O LORD,And whom You teachout of Your law;
Blessedis a manwhoperseveresunder trial;for once he has beenapproved,he will receivethe crownof lifewhich[the Lord] has promisedto thosewho loveHim.
My lifeis continuallyin my hand,Yet I do not forgetYour law.
"I have surelyheardEphraimgrieving,You have chastisedme, and I was chastised,Like an untrainedcalf;Bringme backthat I may be restored,For You are the LORDmy God.
I know,O LORD,that Your judgmentsare righteous,And that in faithfulnessYou have afflictedme.
The LORDhas disciplinedme severely,But He has not givenme over to death.
It is for disciplinethat you endure;Goddealswith you as with sons;for whatsonis there whom[his] fatherdoes not discipline?
My son,do not forgetmy teaching,But let your heartkeepmy commandments;
Acquirewisdom!Acquireunderstanding!Do not forgetnorturnawayfrom the wordsof my mouth.
ThoughI have becomelike a wineskinin the smoke,I do not forgetYour statutes.

Let us not lose heartin doinggood,for in duetimewe will reapif we do not grow weary.
Among theseare Hymenaeusand Alexander,whomI have handed overto Satan,sothat they will be taughtnot to blaspheme.
But I urgeyou, brethren,bearwith thiswordof exhortation,for I have writtento you briefly.
