When Adamhad livedone hundredand thirtyyears,he becamethe fatherof [a son] in his own likeness,according to his image,and namedhim Seth.
Adamhadrelationswith his wifeagain;and she gavebirthto a son,and namedhim Seth,for, [she said], "Godhas appointedme anotheroffspringin placeof Abel,for Cainkilledhim."
He createdthem maleand female,and He blessedthem and namedthem Manin the daywhen they were created.
Then the daysof Adamafterhe becamethe fatherof Sethwere eighthundredyears,and he had[other] sonsand daughters.
"Whocan makethe cleanout of the unclean?Noone!
"Howthen can a manbe justwith God?Or howcan he be cleanwho is bornof woman?
Behold,I was broughtforthin iniquity,And in sinmy motherconceivedme.
The angelansweredand saidto her, "The HolySpiritwill comeupon you, and the powerof the Most Highwill overshadowyou; and for that reasonthe holyChildshall be calledthe Sonof God.
the son of Cainan,the son of Arphaxad,the son of Shem,the son of Noah,the son of Lamech,
"That which is bornof the fleshis flesh,and that which is bornof the Spiritis spirit.
Therefore,justas throughonemansinenteredinto the world,and deaththroughsin,and sodeathspreadto allmen,becauseallsinned--
Allfleshis not the sameflesh,but there is one[flesh] of men,and anotherfleshof beasts,and anotherfleshof birds,and anotherof fish.
Justas we have bornethe imageof the earthy,we will alsobearthe imageof the heavenly.
Amongthem we tooallformerlylivedin the lustsof our flesh,indulgingthe desiresof the fleshand of the mind,and were by naturechildrenof wrath,evenas the rest.
