Now the menwere afraid,becausethey were broughtto Joseph'shouse;and they said,"[It is] becauseof the moneythat was returnedin our sacksthe firsttimethat we are being broughtin, that he may seekoccasionagainstus and fallupon us, and takeus for slaveswith our donkeys."
Then they saidto oneanother,"Trulywe are guiltyconcerningour brother,becausewe sawthe distressof his soulwhen he pleadedwith us, yet we would not listen;thereforethisdistresshas comeupon us."
As one[of them] openedhis sackto givehis donkeyfodderat the lodgingplace,he sawhis money;and behold,it was in the mouthof his sack.
Then he saidto his brothers,"My moneyhas been returned,and behold,it is evenin my sack."And their heartssank,and they [turned] tremblingto oneanother,saying,"Whatis thisthat Godhas doneto us?"
Now it cameabout as they were emptyingtheir sacks,that behold,everyman'sbundleof money[was] in his sack;and when they and their fathersawtheir bundlesof money,they were dismayed.
So the mandidas Josephsaid,and broughtthe mento Joseph'shouse.
So they camenearto Joseph'shousesteward,and spoketo him at the entranceof the house,
"Behold,the moneywhichwe foundin the mouthof our sackswe have broughtbackto you from the landof Canaan.Howthen could we stealsilverorgoldfrom your lord'shouse?
"Soundsof terrorare in his ears;While at peacethe destroyercomesupon him.
"As [through] a widebreachthey come,Amidthe tempestthey rollon.
Therethey were in greatfear[where] nofearhad been;For Godscatteredthe bonesof him who encampedagainst you; You put[them] to shame,becauseGodhad rejectedthem.
When I ponderedto understandthis,It was troublesomein my sight
When it was reportedto the houseof David,saying,"The Arameanshave campedin Ephraim,"his heartand the heartsof his peopleshookas the treesof the forestshakewith the wind.
Thenthe commissionersand satrapsbegan tryingto finda groundof accusationagainst Danielin regardto governmentaffairs;but they couldfindnogroundof accusationor [evidence of] corruption,inasmuchas he was faithful,and nonegligenceor corruptionwas [to be] foundin him.
But when Herodheard[of it], he kept saying,"John,whomI beheaded,has risen!"
But sin,takingopportunitythroughthe commandment,producedin me covetingof every kind;for apartfrom the Lawsin[is] dead.
and chargesher with shamefuldeedsand publiclydefamesher, and says,'I tookthiswoman,[but] when I camenearher, I did not findher a virgin,'
and behold,he has chargedher with shamefuldeeds,saying,"I did not findyour daughtera virgin."But thisis the evidenceof my daughter'svirginity.'And they shall spreadthe garmentbeforethe eldersof the city.
So Manoahsaidto his wife,"We will surelydie,for we have seenGod."
However, his fatherand motherdid not knowthat it was of the LORD,for He was seekingan occasionagainstthe Philistines.Now at that timethe Philistineswere rulingover Israel.
