Then his brotherssaidto him, "Are you actuallygoing to reignoverus? Orare you reallygoing to ruleover us?" So they hatedhim evenmorefor his dreamsand for his words.
So Esauborea grudgeagainstJacobbecauseof the blessingwith whichhis fatherhad blessedhim; and Esausaidto himself,"The daysof mourningfor my fatherare near;then I will killmy brotherJacob."
His brotherssawthat their fatherlovedhim morethanallhis brothers;and [so] they hatedhim and couldnot speakto him on friendlyterms.
Now he hadstillanotherdream,and relatedit to his brothers,and said,"Lo,I have hadstillanother dream;and behold,the sunand the moonand elevenstarswere bowingdownto me."
Then they saidto him, "No,my lord,but your servantshave cometo buyfood.
Then Judahapproachedhim, and said,"Ohmy lord,may your servantpleasespeaka wordin my lord'sears,and do not be angrywith your servant;for you are equal to Pharaoh.
"The blessingsof your fatherHave surpassedthe blessingsof my ancestorsUp to the utmostboundof the everlastinghills;May they be on the headof Joseph,And on the crownof the headof the onedistinguishedamong his brothers.
Then his brothersalsocameand felldownbeforehim and said,"Behold,we are your servants."
The stonewhich the buildersrejectedHas becomethe chiefcorner[stone].
But he said,"Whomadeyou a princeor a judgeoverus? Are you intendingto killme as you killedthe Egyptian?"Then Moseswas afraidand said,"Surelythe matterhas become known."
"But his citizenshatedhim and senta delegationafterhim, saying,'We do not wantthis manto reignoverus.'
But Jesus lookedat them and said,"Whatthenis thisthat is written:THE STONEWHICHTHE BUILDERSREJECTED,THISBECAMETHE CHIEFCORNER[stone]'?
"ThisMoseswhomthey disowned,saying,'WHOMADEYOU A RULERAND A JUDGE?'is the one whomGodsent[to be] botha rulerand a delivererwith the helpof the angelwho appearedto him in the thorn bush.
And with the choicethingsof the earthand its fullness,And the favorof Him who dweltin the bush.Let it cometo the headof Joseph,And to the crownof the headof the onedistinguishedamong his brothers.
How muchsevererpunishmentdo you thinkhe will deservewho has trampled under footthe Sonof God,and has regardedas uncleanthe bloodof the covenantby whichhe was sanctified,and has insultedthe Spiritof grace?
But certain worthlessmensaid,"Howcan thisonedeliverus?" And they despisedhim and did not bringhim any present.But he keptsilent.
Now Eliabhis oldestbrotherheardwhen he spoketo the men;and Eliab'sangerburnedagainst Davidand he said,"Whyhave you comedown?And with whomhave you leftthosefewsheepin the wilderness?I knowyour insolenceand the wickednessof your heart;for you have comedownin orderto seethe battle."
Then Saulbecameveryangry,for thissayingdispleasedhim; and he said,"They have ascribedto Davidtenthousands,but to me they have ascribedthousands.Now what morecan he have but the kingdom?"
