Then Jacobsentmessengersbeforehim to his brotherEsauin the landof Seir,the countryof Edom.
He also commandedthem saying,"Thusyou shall sayto my lordEsau:'Thussaysyour servantJacob,"I have sojournedwith Laban,and stayeduntilnow;
But he saidto him, "My lordknowsthat the childrenare frailand that the flocksand herdswhich are nursingare a careto me. And if they are drivenhardoneday,allthe flockswill die.
"Nowbehold,the sonsof Ammonand Moaband MountSeir,whomYou did not letIsraelinvadewhen they cameout of the landof Egypt(they turnedasidefrom them and did not destroythem),
Like a shepherdHe will tendHis flock,In His armHe will gatherthe lambsAnd carry[them] in His bosom;He will gently leadthe nursing[ewes].

With manysuchparablesHe was speakingthe wordto them, sofar as they were ableto hearit;
Nowwe who are strongoughtto bearthe weaknessesof thosewithout strengthand not [just] pleaseourselves.
I gaveyou milkto drink,not solid food;for you were not yetable[to receive it]. Indeed,evennowyou are not yetable,
"Then we turnedand setout for the wildernessby the wayto the RedSea,as the LORDspoketo me, and circledMountSeirfor manydays.
"LORD,when You wentout from Seir,When You marchedfrom the fieldof Edom,The earthquaked,the heavensalsodripped,Eventhe cloudsdrippedwater.
