Then Davidcameto Mahanaim.And Absalomcrossedthe Jordan,he and allthe menof Israelwith him.
Now Abnerthe sonof Ner,wentout from Mahanaimto Gibeonwith the servantsof Ish-bosheththe sonof Saul.
But Abnerthe sonof Ner,commanderof Saul'sarmy,had takenIsh-bosheththe sonof Sauland broughthim overto Mahanaim.
"Behold,there is with you Shimeithe sonof Gerathe Benjamite,of Bahurim;now it was he who cursedme with a violentcurseon the dayI wentto Mahanaim.But when he camedownto me at the Jordan,I sworeto him by the LORD,saying,'I will not putyou to deathwith the sword.'
Ahinadabthe sonof Iddo,[in] Mahanaim;
Then Elishaprayedand said,"O LORD,I pray,openhis eyesthat he may see."And the LORDopenedthe servant'seyesand he saw;and behold,the mountainwas fullof horsesand chariotsof fireallaroundElisha.
For dayby day[men] cameto Davidto helphim, untilthere was a greatarmylike the armyof God.
Blessthe LORD,allyou His hosts,You who serveHim, doingHis will.
PraiseHim, allHis angels;PraiseHim, allHis hosts!
Whois thisKingof glory?The LORDof hosts,He is the Kingof glory.Selah.
The angelof the LORDencampsaroundthose who fearHim, And rescuesthem.
"Comeback,comeback,O Shulammite;Comeback,comeback,that we may gazeat you!" "Whyshould you gazeat the Shulammite,As at the danceof the two companies?
Then he said,"Do you understandwhyI cameto you? But I shall nowreturnto fightagainstthe princeof Persia;so I am goingforth,and behold,the princeof Greeceis about to come.
And suddenlythere appearedwith the angela multitudeof the heavenlyhostpraisingGodand saying,
From the tribeof Gad,[they gave] Ramothin Gilead,the cityof refugefor the manslayer,with its pasturelandsand Mahanaimwith its pasturelands,
He said,"No;ratherI indeedcomenow[as] captainof the hostof the LORD."And Joshuafellon his faceto the earth,and boweddown,and saidto him, "Whathas my lordto sayto his servant?"
