Now noshrubof the fieldwas yetin the earth,and noplantof the fieldhad yetsprouted,for the LORDGodhad not sentrainupon the earth,and there was nomanto cultivatethe ground.
But a mistused to risefrom the earthand waterthe wholesurfaceof the ground.
therefore the LORDGodsenthim out from the gardenof Eden,to cultivatethe groundfrom whichhe was taken.
"Whenyou cultivatethe ground,it will nolongeryieldits strengthto you; you will be a vagrantand a wandereron the earth."
Again,she gavebirthto his brotherAbel.And Abelwas a keeperof flocks,but Cainwas a tillerof the ground.
"He givesrainon the earthAnd sendswateron the fields,
He causes the grassto growfor the cattle,And vegetationfor the laborof man,So that he may bringforthfoodfrom the earth,
He causes the vaporsto ascendfrom the endsof the earth;Who makeslightningsfor the rain,Who bringsforththe windfrom His treasuries.
[It is] He who madethe earthby His power,Who establishedthe worldby His wisdom;And by His understandingHe has stretchedout the heavens.
When He uttersHis voice,[there is] a tumultof watersin the heavens,And He causes the cloudsto ascendfrom the endof the earth;He makeslightningfor the rain,And bringsout the windfrom His storehouses.
Are thereanyamong the idolsof the nationswho giverain?Orcan the heavensgrantshowers?Is it not You, O LORDour God?Therefore we hopein You, For You are the one who has doneallthesethings.
sothat you may be sonsof your Fatherwhois in heaven;for He causesHis sunto riseon [the] eviland [the] good,and sends rainon [the] righteousand [the] unrighteous.
For groundthat drinksthe rainwhich oftenfallson it and brings forthvegetationusefulto thosefor whosesakeit is alsotilled,receivesa blessingfrom God;
