Then Abrahamrosefrom beforehis dead,and spoketo the sonsof Heth,saying,
and I will make you swearby the LORD,the Godof heavenand the Godof earth,that you shall not takea wifefor my sonfrom the daughtersof the Canaanites,amongwhomI live,
"Zebulunwill dwellat the seashore;And he [shall be] a havenfor ships,And his flank[shall be] towardSidon.
So Davidsentand inquiredabout the woman.And one said,"Is thisnot Bathsheba,the daughterof Eliam,the wifeof Uriahthe Hittite?"
Then they cameto Gileadand to the landof Tahtim-hodshi,and they cameto Dan-jaanand aroundto Sidon,

"So I have comedownto deliverthem from the powerof the Egyptians,and to bringthem up from that landto a goodand spaciousland,to a landflowingwith milkand honey,to the placeof the Canaaniteand the Hittiteand the Amoriteand the Perizziteand the Hiviteand the Jebusite.
"Be sure to observewhatI am commandingyou this day:behold,I am going to driveout the Amoritebeforeyou, and the Canaanite,the Hittite,the Perizzite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite.
Be ashamed,O Sidon;For the seaspeaks,the strongholdof the sea,saying,"I have neithertravailednorgivenbirth,I have neitherbroughtup youngmen[nor] rearedvirgins."
On accountof the daythat is comingTo destroyallthe Philistines,To cutofffrom Tyreand SidonEveryallythat is left;For the LORDis going to destroythe Philistines,The remnantof the coastlandof Caphtor.
"The inhabitantsof Sidonand Arvadwere your rowers;Your wisemen,O Tyre,were aboard; they were your pilots.
"Sonof man,setyour facetowardSidon,prophesyagainsther
The LORDdeliveredthem into the handof Israel,so that they defeatedthem, and pursuedthem as faras GreatSidonand Misrephoth-maimand the valleyof Mizpehto the east;and they struckthem untilnosurvivorwas leftto them.
Then Davidsaidto Ahimelechthe Hittiteand to Abishaithe sonof Zeruiah,Joab'sbrother,saying,"Whowill godownwith me to Saulin the camp?"And Abishaisaid,"I will godownwith you."
