For the fleshsets its desireagainstthe Spirit,and the Spiritagainstthe flesh;for theseare in oppositionto one another,sothat you may not dothe things that you please.
Then the LORDsaid,"My Spiritshall not strivewith manforever,becausehe alsois flesh;nevertheless his daysshall be one hundredand twentyyears."
Establishmy footstepsin Your word,And do not let anyiniquityhavedominionover me.
ConsiderhowI loveYour precepts;Reviveme, O LORD,according to Your lovingkindness.
I have goneastraylike a lostsheep;seekYour servant,For I do not forgetYour commandments.

Iniquitiesprevailagainstme; As for our transgressions,You forgivethem.
Indeed,thereis not a righteousmanon earthwho[continually] doesgoodand who neversins.
Then I said,"Woeis me, for I am ruined!BecauseI am a manof uncleanlips,And I liveamonga peopleof uncleanlips;For my eyeshave seenthe King,the LORDof hosts."
"He who is not with Me is againstMe; and he who does not gatherwith Me scatters.
And Jesussaidto him, "Blessedare you, SimonBarjona,becausefleshand blooddid not reveal[this] to you, but My Fatherwhois in heaven.
But He turnedand saidto Peter,"GetbehindMe, Satan!You are a stumbling blockto Me; for you are not setting your mindon God'sinterests, but man's."
"Keep watchingand prayingthat you may not enterinto temptation;the spiritis willing,but the fleshis weak."
"Blessedare thosewho hungerand thirstfor righteousness,for they shall be satisfied.
But he saidto Him, "Lord,with You I amreadyto gobothto prisonand to death!"
and saidto them, "Whyare you sleeping?Getup and praythat you may not enterinto temptation."
"That which is bornof the fleshis flesh,and that which is bornof the Spiritis spirit.
for ifyou are livingaccordingto the flesh,you mustdie;but ifby the Spirityou are putting to deaththe deedsof the body,you will live.
Is the Lawthencontraryto the promisesof God?May it neverbe! For ifa lawhad been givenwhich was ableto impart life,then righteousnesswould indeedhave beenbasedon law.
For we allstumblein many[ways]. Ifanyonedoes not stumblein what he says,he is a perfectman,ableto bridlethe wholebodyas well.
