I begof you, brethren,becomeas I [am], for I also[have become] as you [are]. You have doneme nowrong;
"Onlyon this[condition] will we consentto you: ifyou will becomelikeus, in that everymaleof you be circumcised,
And he saidto Jehoshaphat,"Will you gowith me to battleat Ramoth-gilead?"And Jehoshaphatsaidto the kingof Israel,"I am as you are, my peopleas your people,my horsesas your horses."
and they have been toldaboutyou, that you are teachingallthe Jewswho are amongthe Gentilesto forsakeMoses,tellingthem not to circumcisetheir childrennorto walkaccording to the customs.
But ifanyhas causedsorrow, he has caused sorrownot to me, but in some degree--in ordernot to say too much--to allof you.
Our mouthhas spoken freelyto you, O Corinthians,our heartis opened wide.
Nowin a likeexchange--I speakas to children--open wide[to us] also.
But whenI sawthat they were not straightforwardaboutthe truthof the gospel,I saidto Cephasin the presenceof all,"Ifyou, beinga Jew,livelike the Gentilesand not like the Jews,how[is it that] you compelthe Gentilesto live like Jews?
I fearfor you, that perhapsI have laboredoveryou in vain.
but you knowthat it was becauseof a bodilyillnessthat I preached the gospelto you the first time;
But may it neverbe that I would boast,exceptin the crossof our LordJesusChrist,throughwhichthe worldhas been crucifiedto me, and I to the world.
The graceof our LordJesusChristbe with your spirit,brethren.Amen.
