Then Mosessaidto the LORD,"See,You sayto me, 'Bringup thispeople!'But You Yourselfhave not let me knowwhomYou will sendwith me. Moreover, You have said,'I have knownyou by name,and you have alsofoundfavorin My sight.'
"For I have chosenhim, sothat he may commandhis childrenand his householdafterhim to keepthe wayof the LORDby doingrighteousnessand justice,sothat the LORDmay bringupon AbrahamwhatHe has spokenabouthim."
The kingsaidto Zadok,"Returnthe arkof Godto the city.IfI findfavorin the sightof the LORD,then He will bringme backagain and showme both it and His habitation.
For the LORDknowsthe wayof the righteous,But the wayof the wickedwill perish.
"Therefore, comenow,and I will sendyou to Pharaoh,so that you may bringMy people,the sonsof Israel,out of Egypt."
When the LORDsawthat he turnedasideto look,Godcalledto him from the midstof the bushand said,"Moses,Moses!"And he said,"HereI am."
"But gonow,leadthe peoplewhereI toldyou. Behold,My angelshall gobeforeyou; nevertheless in the daywhen I punish,I will punishthem for their sin."
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,"Depart,goup from here,you and the peoplewhomyou have broughtup from the landof Egypt,to the landof whichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,To your descendantsI will giveit.'
The LORDsaidto Moses,"I will alsodothisthingof whichyou have spoken;for you have foundfavorin My sightand I have knownyou by name."
"I will sendan angelbeforeyou and I will driveout the Canaanite,the Amorite,the Hittite,the Perizzite,the Hiviteand the Jebusite.
He said,"IfnowI have foundfavorin Your sight,O Lord,I pray,let the Lordgoalong in our midst,eventhoughthe peopleare so obstinate,and pardonour iniquityand our sin,and takeus as Your own possession."
But now,thussaysthe LORD,your Creator,O Jacob,And He who formedyou, O Israel,"Do not fear,for I have redeemedyou; I have calledyou by name;you are Mine!
"I will giveyou the treasuresof darknessAnd hiddenwealthof secretplaces,So that you may knowthat it is I, The LORD,the Godof Israel,who callsyou by your name.
"BeforeI formedyou in the wombI knewyou, And beforeyou were bornI consecratedyou; I have appointedyou a prophetto the nations."
As for the promisewhichI madeyou when you cameout of Egypt,My Spiritis abidingin your midst;do not fear!'
Nevertheless,the firmfoundationof Godstands,havingthisseal,"The Lordknowsthosewho are His," and, "Everyonewho namesthe nameof the Lordis to abstainfrom wickedness."
