Moseswrotedownallthe wordsof the LORD.Then he aroseearlyin the morning,and builtan altarat the footof the mountainwith twelvepillarsfor the twelvetribesof Israel.
The LORDappearedto Abramand said,"To your descendantsI will givethisland."So he builtan altarthereto the LORDwho had appearedto him.
So Jacobroseearlyin the morning,and tookthe stonethat he had putunder his headand setit up as a pillarand pouredoilon its top.
"Thisstone,whichI have setup as a pillar,will be God'shouse,and of allthat You giveme I will surelygivea tenthto You."
Then Jacobtooka stoneand setit up [as] a pillar.
Then Ahijahtookholdof the newcloakwhichwas on him and toreit into twelvepieces.
Elijahtooktwelvestonesaccording to the numberof the tribesof the sonsof Jacob,to whomthe wordof the LORDhad come,saying,"Israelshall be your name."
They offeredfor the dedicationof thistempleof God100bulls,200rams,400lambs,and as a sinofferingfor allIsrael12malegoats,corresponding to the numberof the tribesof Israel.
Now on the sealeddocument [were the names of]: Nehemiahthe governor,the sonof Hacaliah,and Zedekiah,
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Writethisin a bookas a memorialand reciteit to Joshua,that I will utterlyblotout the memoryof Amalekfrom underheaven."
Mosesbuiltan altarand namedit The LORDis My Banner;
"Now theseare the ordinanceswhichyou are to setbeforethem:
Then he tookthe bookof the covenantand read[it] in the hearingof the people;and they said,"Allthat the LORDhas spokenwe will do,and we will be obedient!"
"The stonesshall be accordingto the namesof the sonsof Israel:twelve,accordingto their names;they shall be [like] the engravingsof a seal,eachaccordingto his namefor the twelvetribes.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Writedownthesewords,for in accordancewith thesewordsI have madea covenantwith you and with Israel."
In that daythere will be an altarto the LORDin the midstof the landof Egypt,and a pillarto the LORDnearits border.
"Then you shall takefineflourand baketwelvecakeswith it; two-tenths[of an ephah] shall be [in] eachcake.
"Speakto the sonsof Israel,and getfrom them a rodfor each father'shousehold:twelverods,from alltheir leadersaccording to their fathers'households.You shall writeeachnameon his rod,
that you may eatand drinkat My tablein My kingdom,and you will siton thronesjudgingthe twelvetribesof Israel.
and recognizingthe gracethat had been givento me, Jamesand Cephasand John,who were reputedto be pillars,gaveto me and Barnabasthe right handof fellowship,sothat we [might] [go] to the Gentilesand they to the circumcised.
So Moseswrotethislawand gaveit to the priests,the sonsof Leviwho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORD,and to allthe eldersof Israel.
Thosetwelvestoneswhichthey had takenfrom the Jordan,Joshuasetup at Gilgal.
and Joshuasaidto them, "Crossagainto the arkof the LORDyour Godinto the middleof the Jordan,and eachof you takeup a stoneon his shoulder,according to the numberof the tribesof the sonsof Israel.
And the wallof the cityhadtwelvefoundation stones,and on them [were] the twelvenamesof the twelveapostlesof the Lamb.
