"Sixdaysyou are to doyour work,but on the seventhdayyou shall cease[from labor] sothat your oxand your donkeymay rest,and the sonof your femaleslave,as well as your stranger,may refreshthemselves.
Also menof Tyrewere livingthere [who] importedfishand allkinds of merchandise,and sold[them] to the sonsof Judahon the sabbath,even in Jerusalem.
then he saidto them, "Thisis whatthe LORDmeant:Tomorrowis a sabbathobservance,a holysabbathto the LORD.Bakewhatyou will bakeand boilwhatyou will boil,and allthat is leftoverputasideto be keptuntilmorning."
but [on] the seventhyearyou shall letit restand liefallow,so that the needyof your peoplemay eat;and whatever they leavethe beastof the fieldmay eat.You are to dothe samewith your vineyard[and] your olivegrove.
"You shall worksixdays,but on the seventhdayyou shall rest;[even] during plowingtimeand harvestyou shall rest.
"For sixdaysworkmay be done,but on the seventhdayyou shall havea holy[day], a sabbathof completerestto the LORD;whoeverdoesany workon it shall be putto death.
"You shall not kindlea firein anyof your dwellingson the sabbathday."
Whyhave we fastedand You do not see?[Why] have we humbledourselvesand You do not notice?'Behold,on the dayof your fastyou find[your] desire,And drivehardallyour workers.
For sixdaysworkmay be done,but on the seventhdaythere is a sabbathof completerest,a holyconvocation.You shall not doanywork;it is a sabbathto the LORDin allyour dwellings.
Jesus saidto them, "The Sabbathwas madefor man,and not manfor the Sabbath.
But the synagogue official,indignantbecauseJesushad healedon the Sabbath,[began] sayingto the crowdin response,"There are sixdaysin whichworkshouldbe done;socomeduringthem and get healed,and not on the Sabbathday."
