He does not putout his moneyat interest,Nordoes he takea bribeagainstthe innocent.He who doesthesethingswill neverbe shaken.
Pourout Your indignationon them, And may Your burningangerovertakethem.
You, even You, are to be feared;And whomay standin Your presencewhenonceYou are angry?
Whounderstandsthe powerof Your angerAnd Your fury,according to the fearthat is due You?
"Their widowswill be morenumerousbefore Me Thanthe sandof the seas;I will bringagainst them, againstthe motherof a youngman,A destroyerat noonday;I will suddenlybringdownon her Anguishand dismay.
Therefore,givetheir childrenover to famineAnd deliverthem up to the powerof the sword;And let their wivesbecomechildlessand widowed.Let their menalso be smittento death,Their youngmenstruckdownby the swordin battle.
We have becomeorphanswithouta father,Our mothersare like widows.
Now in casea countrymanof yours becomespoorand his meanswith regardto you falter,then you are to sustainhim, like a strangeror a sojourner,that he may livewith you.
Do not takeusuriousinterestfrom him, but revereyour God,that your countrymanmay livewith you.
Whocan standbeforeHis indignation?Whocan endurethe burningof His anger?His wrathis pouredout like fireAnd the rocksare brokenup by Him.
"Give,and it will be givento you. They will pourinto your lapa goodmeasure--pressed down,shaken together,[and] running over.For by your standardof measureit will be measured to you in return."
"You may chargeinterestto a foreigner,but to your countrymenyou shall not chargeinterest,sothat the LORDyour Godmay blessyou in allthat you undertakein the landwhichyou are about to enterto possess.
"Whenyou makea vowto the LORDyour God,you shall not delayto payit, for it would be sinin you, and the LORDyour Godwill surelyrequireit of you.
