The houseof Israelnamedit manna,and it was like corianderseed,white,and its tastewas like waferswith honey.
When the layerof dewevaporated,behold,on the surfaceof the wildernessthere was a fineflake-likething,fineas the froston the ground.
When the sonsof Israelsaw[it], they saidto oneanother,"Whatis it?" For they did not knowwhatit was. And Mosessaidto them, "It is the breadwhichthe LORDhas givenyou to eat.
So the peoplerestedon the seventhday.
Then Mosessaid,"Thisis whatthe LORDhas commanded,'Let an omerfulof it be keptthroughout your generations,that they may seethe breadthat I fedyou in the wilderness,when I broughtyou out of the landof Egypt.'"
"Like an appletreeamong the treesof the forest,Sois my belovedamongthe youngmen.In his shadeI tookgreat delightand satdown,And his fruitwas sweetto my taste.
"In the wildernessHe fedyou mannawhichyour fathersdid not know,that He might humbleyou and that He might testyou, to dogoodfor you in the end.
"He humbledyou and let you be hungry,and fedyou with mannawhichyou did not know,nordid your fathersknow,that He might make you understandthat mandoes not liveby breadalone,but manlivesby everythingthat proceedsout of the mouthof the LORD.
