Now the LORDsaidto Moses,"OnemoreplagueI will bringon Pharaohand on Egypt;afterthat he will letyou gofrom here.When he letsyou go,he will surelydriveyou out from herecompletely.
"But I will alsojudgethe nationwhomthey will serve,and afterwardthey will comeout with manypossessions.
You renewYour witnessesagainstme And increaseYour angertowardme; Hardshipafter hardshipis with me.
Now it cameabout at midnightthat the LORDstruckallthe firstbornin the landof Egypt,from the firstbornof Pharaohwho saton his throneto the firstbornof the captivewhowas in the dungeon,and allthe firstbornof cattle.
"So I will stretchout My handand strikeEgyptwith allMy miracleswhichI shall doin the midstof it; and afterthat he will let you go.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Nowyou shall seewhatI will doto Pharaoh;for under compulsionhe will letthem go,and under compulsionhe will drivethem out of his land."
"For thistimeI will sendallMy plagueson you and your servantsand your people,sothat you may knowthat thereis noonelikeMe in allthe earth.
Ifthen, you actwith hostilityagainstMe and are unwillingto obeyMe, I will increasethe plagueon you seventimesaccording to your sins.
"Orhas a godtriedto goto takefor himself a nationfrom within[another] nationby trials,by signsand wondersand by warand by a mightyhandand by an outstretchedarmand by greatterrors,as the LORDyour Goddidfor you in Egyptbefore your eyes?
Menwere scorchedwith fierceheat;and they blasphemedthe nameof Godwho hasthe powerovertheseplagues,and they did not repentso as to giveHim glory.
Then they said,"Whatshall be the guiltofferingwhichwe shall returnto Him?" And they said,"Fivegoldentumorsand fivegoldenmice[according to] the numberof the lordsof the Philistines,for oneplaguewas on allof you and on your lords.
