Then he liftedup his faceto the windowand said,"Whois on my side?Who?"And twoor threeofficialslookeddownat him.
On the seventhday,when the heartof the kingwas merrywith wine,he commandedMehuman,Biztha,Harbona,Bigtha,Abagtha,Zetharand Carkas,the seveneunuchswho servedin the presenceof KingAhasuerus,
Then Zereshhis wifeand allhis friendssaidto him, "Have a gallowsfiftycubitshighmadeand in the morningaskthe kingto have Mordecaihangedon it; then gojoyfullywith the kingto the banquet."And the advicepleasedHaman,so he had the gallowsmade.
While they were stilltalkingwith him, the king'seunuchsarrivedand hastilybroughtHamanto the banquetwhichEstherhad prepared.
It was foundwrittenwhatMordecaihad reportedconcerningBigthanaand Teresh,twoof the king'seunuchswho were doorkeepers,that they had soughtto layhandson KingAhasuerus.
So KingAhasuerussaidto QueenEstherand to Mordecaithe Jew,"Behold,I have giventhe houseof Hamanto Esther,and him they have hangedon the gallowsbecausehe had stretchedout his handsagainst the Jews.
So the kingcommandedthat it should be doneso;and an edictwas issuedin Susa,and Haman'stensonswere hanged.
But when it cameto the king'sattention,he commandedby letterthat his wickedschemewhichhe had devisedagainstthe Jews,should returnon his own headand that he and his sonsshould be hangedon the gallows.
Let the wickedfallinto their own nets,WhileI passby safely.
Let destructioncomeupon him unawares,And let the netwhichhe hidcatchhimself; Into that very destructionlet him fall.
Howthey are destroyedin a moment!They are utterlysweptawayby suddenterrors!
