The deadwill not live,the departedspiritswill not rise;ThereforeYou have punishedand destroyedthem, And You have wipedout allremembranceof them.
Thereis noremembranceof earlierthings;And alsoof the laterthingswhichwill occur,There will be for them noremembranceAmongthose whowill comelater[still].
For thereis nomentionof You in death;In Sheolwhowill giveYou thanks?
And inasmuchas it is appointedfor mento dieonceand afterthis[comes] judgment,

Let them be beforethe LORDcontinually,That He may cutofftheir memoryfrom the earth;
Sothen, I have seenthe wickedburied,those who used to goin and out from the holyplace,and they are [soon] forgottenin the citywherethey didthus.Thistoois futility.
For You are our Father,thoughAbrahamdoes not knowus And Israeldoes not recognizeus. You, O LORD,are our Father,Our Redeemerfrom of oldis Your name.
It is betterto goto a houseof mourningThanto goto a houseof feasting,Becausethat is the endof everyman,And the livingtakes[it] to heart.
"For I knowthat You will bringme to deathAnd to the houseof meetingfor allliving.
For whoeveris joinedwith allthe living,thereis hope;surelya livedogis betterthana deadlion.
Whateveryour handfindsto do,do[it] with [all] your might;for thereis noactivityor planningor knowledgeor wisdomin Sheolwhereyou are going.
"For we will surelydieand are like waterspilledon the groundwhichcannotbe gatheredup again. Yet Goddoes not takeaway life,but planswaysso that the banishedonewill not be castout from him.
