He namedthe placeMassahand Meribahbecauseof the quarrelof the sonsof Israel,and becausethey testedthe LORD,saying,"Is the LORDamongus, ornot?"
So the nameof that placewas calledKibroth-hattaavah,becausetherethey buriedthe peoplewho had beengreedy.
Mosessaidto Aaron,"Takeyour censerand putin it firefrom the altar,and layincense[on it]; then bringit quicklyto the congregationand makeatonementfor them, for wrathhas goneforthfrom the LORD,the plaguehas begun!"
