Now Moseswentup from the plainsof Moabto MountNebo,to the topof Pisgah,whichis oppositeJericho.And the LORDshowedhim allthe land,Gileadas faras Dan,
The LORDsaidto Abram,afterLothad separatedfrom him, "Nowliftup your eyesand lookfrom the placewhereyou are, northwardand southwardand eastwardand westward;
When Abramheardthat his relativehad been takencaptive,he ledout his trainedmen,bornin his house,threehundredand eighteen,and wentin pursuitas faras Dan.
In the visionsof GodHe broughtme into the landof Israeland setme on a veryhighmountain,and on it to the south[there was] a structurelike a city.
and from Bamothto the valleythat is in the landof Moab,at the topof Pisgahwhich overlooksthe wasteland.
So he tookhim to the fieldof Zophim,to the topof Pisgah,and builtsevenaltarsand offereda bulland a ramon [each] altar.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Goup to thismountainof Abarim,and seethe landwhichI have givento the sonsof Israel.
They journeyedfrom Almon-diblathaimand campedin the mountainsof Abarim,beforeNebo.
Goup to the topof Pisgahand liftup your eyesto the westand northand southand east,and see[it] with your eyes,for you shall not crossoverthisJordan.
"Goup to thismountainof the Abarim,MountNebo,whichis in the landof MoaboppositeJericho,and lookat the landof Canaan,whichI am givingto the sonsof Israelfor a possession.
"For you shall seethe landat a distance,but you shall not gothere,into the landwhichI am givingthe sonsof Israel."
Then the LORDsaidto him, "Thisis the landwhichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,'I will giveit to your descendants;I have let you see[it] with your eyes,but you shall not gooverthere."
The territoryof the sonsof Danproceededbeyondthem; for the sonsof Danwentup and foughtwith Leshemand capturedit. Then they struckit with the edgeof the swordand possessedit and settledin it; and they calledLeshemDanafter the nameof Dantheir father.
The sonsof Reubenand the sonsof Gadand the half-tribeof Manassehreturned[home] and departedfrom the sonsof Israelat Shilohwhichis in the landof Canaan,to goto the landof Gilead,to the landof their possessionwhichthey had possessed,accordingto the commandof the LORDthroughMoses.
And he carried me awayin the Spiritto a greatand highmountain,and showedme the holycity,Jerusalem,coming downout of heavenfrom God,
They calledthe nameof the cityDan,after the nameof Dantheir fatherwhowas bornin Israel;however,the nameof the cityformerlywas Laish.
