Of Levihe said,"[Let] Your Thummimand Your Urim[belong] to Your godlyman,WhomYou provedat Massah,With whom You contendedat the watersof Meribah;
"But let noone enterthe houseof the LORDexceptthe priestsand the ministeringLevites;they may enter,for they are holy.And let allthe peoplekeepthe chargeof the LORD.
The governorsaidto them that they should not eatfrom the mostholythingsuntila prieststoodup with Urimand Thummim.
Then I saidto them, "You are holyto the LORD,and the utensilsare holy;and the silverand the goldare a freewillofferingto the LORDGodof your fathers.
The governorsaidto them that they should not eatfrom the mostholythingsuntila priestarosewith Urimand Thummim.
When they becameenviousof Mosesin the camp,And of Aaron,the holyoneof the LORD,
For You will not abandonmy soulto Sheol;Norwill You allowYour HolyOneto undergodecay.
"You calledin troubleand I rescuedyou; I answeredyou in the hidingplaceof thunder;I provedyou at the watersof Meribah.Selah.
He namedthe placeMassahand Meribahbecauseof the quarrelof the sonsof Israel,and becausethey testedthe LORD,saying,"Is the LORDamongus, ornot?"
"You shall putin the breastpieceof judgmentthe Urimand the Thummim,and they shall be overAaron'sheartwhen he goesin beforethe LORD;and Aaronshall carrythe judgmentof the sonsof Israeloverhis heartbeforethe LORDcontinually.
"You shall also makea plateof puregoldand shall engraveon it, like the engravingsof a seal,Holyto the LORD.'
They shall not takea womanwho is profanedby harlotry,norshall they takea womandivorcedfrom her husband;for he is holyto his God.
He then placedthe breastpieceon him, and in the breastpiecehe putthe Urimand the Thummim.
"true instructionwas in his mouthand unrighteousnesswas not foundon his lips;he walkedwith Me in peaceand uprightness,and he turnedmanybackfrom iniquity.
and he spoketo Korahand allhis company,saying,"Tomorrowmorningthe LORDwill showwhois His, and who is holy,and will bring[him] nearto Himself; even the one whomHe will choose,He will bringnearto Himself.
Those[were] the watersof Meribah,becausethe sonsof Israelcontendedwith the LORD,and He provedHimself holyamong them.
"Aaronwill be gatheredto his people;for he shall not enterthe landwhichI have givento the sonsof Israel,becauseyou rebelledagainstMy commandat the watersof Meribah.
"Moreover, he shall standbeforeEleazarthe priest,who shall inquirefor him by the judgmentof the Urimbeforethe LORD.At his commandthey shall goout and at his commandthey shall comein, [both] he and the sonsof Israelwith him, even allthe congregation."
"As for the citieswhichyou shall givefrom the possessionof the sonsof Israel,you shall takemorefrom the largerand you shall takelessfrom the smaller;eachshall givesomeof his citiesto the Levitesin proportionto his possessionwhichhe inherits."
"You shall not putthe LORDyour Godto the test,as you tested[Him] at Massah.
"In the wildernessHe fedyou mannawhichyour fathersdid not know,that He might humbleyou and that He might testyou, to dogoodfor you in the end.
"Again at Taberahand at Massahand at Kibroth-hattaavahyou provokedthe LORDto wrath.
For it was fittingfor us to have sucha high priest,holy,innocent,undefiled,separatedfrom sinnersand exaltedabove the heavens;
"And to the angelof the churchin Philadelphiawrite:He who is holy,who is true,who hasthe keyof David,who opensand noonewill shut,and who shutsand no oneopens,saysthis:
When Saulinquiredof the LORD,the LORDdid not answerhim, eitherby dreamsorby Urimorby prophets.
