the Arabahalso, with the Jordanas [a] border,from Chinneretheven as faras the seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,at the footof the slopesof Pisgahon the east.
Lotliftedup his eyesand sawallthe valleyof the Jordan,that it was wellwateredeverywhere--[this was] beforethe LORDdestroyedSodomand Gomorrah--like the gardenof the LORD,like the landof Egyptas you goto Zoar.
Allthesecameas alliesto the valleyof Siddim(that is, the SaltSea).
He restoredthe borderof Israelfrom the entranceof Hamathas faras the Seaof the Arabah,according to the wordof the LORD,the Godof Israel,whichHe spokethroughHis servantJonahthe sonof Amittai,the prophet,whowas of Gath-hepher.
Then he saidto me, "Thesewatersgoout towardthe easternregionand godowninto the Arabah;then they gotoward the sea,being made to flowinto the sea,and the waters[of the sea] becomefresh.
So he tookhim to the fieldof Zophim,to the topof Pisgah,and builtsevenaltarsand offereda bulland a ramon [each] altar.
Nowit happenedthat whilethe crowdwas pressing aroundHim and listeningto the wordof God,He was standingby the lakeof Gennesaret;
with allthe Arabahacrossthe Jordanto the east,even as faras the seaof the Arabah,at the footof the slopesof Pisgah.
and the Arabahas faras the Seaof Chinnerothtoward the east,and as faras the seaof the Arabah,[even] the SaltSea,eastwardtowardBeth-jeshimoth,and on the south,at the footof the slopesof Pisgah;
and in the valley,Beth-haramand Beth-nimrahand Succothand Zaphon,the restof the kingdomof Sihonkingof Heshbon,with the Jordanas a border,as faras the [lower] endof the Seaof Chinnerethbeyondthe Jordanto the east.
Their southborderwas from the lower endof the SaltSea,from the baythat turnsto the south.
The eastborder[was] the SaltSea,as faras the mouthof the Jordan.And the borderof the northsidewas from the bayof the seaat the mouthof the Jordan.
The bordercontinuedto the sideof Beth-hoglahnorthward;and the borderendedat the northbayof the SaltSea,at the southendof the Jordan.This[was] the southborder.
The fortifiedcities[were] Ziddim,Zerand Hammath,Rakkathand Chinnereth,
the waterswhich were flowingdownfrom abovestood[and] roseup in oneheap,a greatdistanceaway at Adam,the citythat is besideZarethan;and those which were flowingdowntowardthe seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,were completelycutoff.So the peoplecrossedoppositeJericho.
