Therefore He sworeto them That He would castthem downin the wilderness,
For dayand nightYour handwas heavyupon me; My vitalitywas drainedaway [as] with the feverheatof summer.Selah.
So He broughttheir daysto an endin futilityAnd their yearsin suddenterror.
Then you will see[this], and your heartwill be glad,And your boneswill flourishlike the newgrass;And the handof the LORDwill be madeknownto His servants,But He will be indignanttowardHis enemies.

Nevertheless,with mostof them Godwas not well-pleased;for they were laid lowin the wilderness.
NowI desireto remindyou, though you knowall thingsonce for all,that the Lord,after savinga peopleout of the landof Egypt,subsequentlydestroyedthosewho did not believe.
Whereverthey went,the handof the LORDwas against them for evil,as the LORDhad spokenand as the LORDhad swornto them, so that they were severelydistressed.
They senttherefore and gatheredallthe lordsof the Philistinesand said,"Sendawaythe arkof the Godof Israel,and let it returnto its own place,sothat it will not killus and our people."For there was a deadlyconfusionthroughoutthe city;the handof Godwas veryheavythere.
Now the handof the LORDwas heavyon the Ashdodites,and He ravagedthem and smotethem with tumors,both Ashdodand its territories.
Afterthey had broughtit around,the handof the LORDwas against the citywith verygreatconfusion;and He smotethe menof the city,bothyoungand old,so that tumorsbrokeout on them.
So the Philistineswere subduedand they didnot comeanymorewithin the borderof Israel.And the handof the LORDwas against the Philistinesallthe daysof Samuel.
