Danielsaid,"I was lookingin my visionby night,and behold,the fourwindsof heavenwere stirringup the greatsea.
Alas,the uproarof manypeoplesWho roarlike the roaringof the seas,And the rumblingof nationsWho rushon like the rumblingof mightywaters!
I will bringupon Elamthe fourwindsFrom the fourendsof heaven,And will scatterthem to allthesewinds;And therewill be nonationTo whichthe outcastsof Elamwill not go.
"The seahas comeup overBabylon;She has been engulfedwith its tumultuouswaves.
"But as soon as he has arisen,his kingdomwill be brokenup and parceledout toward the fourpointsof the compass,though not to his [own] descendants,noraccording to his authoritywhichhe wielded,for his sovereigntywill be uprootedand [given] to othersbesidesthem.
Thenthe mysterywas revealedto Danielin a nightvision.ThenDanielblessedthe Godof heaven;
"I keptlookingin the nightvisions,And behold,with the cloudsof heavenOne like a Sonof Manwas coming,And He cameup to the Ancientof DaysAnd was presentedbeforeHim.
"AfterthisI keptlookingin the nightvisions,and behold,a fourthbeast,dreadfuland terrifyingand extremelystrong;and it had largeironteeth.It devouredand crushedand trampleddownthe remainderwith its feet;and it was differentfrom allthe beaststhat were beforeit, and it had tenhorns.
I lookedin the vision,and while I was lookingI was in the citadelof Susa,whichis in the provinceof Elam;and I lookedin the visionand I myselfwas besidethe UlaiCanal.
Then the malegoatmagnified[himself] exceedingly.But as soon as he was mighty,the largehornwas broken;and in its placethere cameup fourconspicuous[horns] toward the fourwindsof heaven.
The angelrepliedto me, "Theseare the fourspiritsof heaven,goingforthafterstandingbeforethe Lordof allthe earth,
"And He will send forthHis angelswith A GREATTRUMPETand THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHERHis electfrom the fourwinds,from one endof the skyto the other.
And he saidto me, "The waterswhichyou sawwherethe harlotsits,are peoplesand multitudesand nationsand tongues.
AfterthisI sawfourangelsstandingat the fourcornersof the earth,holding backthe fourwindsof the earth,sothat nowindwould blowon the earthoron the seaoron anytree.
