The wordwhichcameto Jeremiahfrom the LORD,when Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonand allhis army,with allthe kingdomsof the earththat were under his dominionand allthe peoples,were fightingagainstJerusalemand againstallits cities,saying,
The LordgaveJehoiakimkingof Judahinto his hand,along with someof the vesselsof the houseof God;and he broughtthem to the landof Shinar,to the houseof his god,and he broughtthe vesselsinto the treasuryof his god.
"The headof that statue[was made] of finegold,its breastand its armsof silver,its bellyand its thighsof bronze,
"Afteryou there will ariseanotherkingdominferiorto you, then anotherthirdkingdomof bronze,whichwill ruleover allthe earth.
Thisis the dream[which] I, KingNebuchadnezzar,have seen.Now you, Belteshazzar,tell[me] its interpretation,inasmuchas noneof the wisemenof my kingdomis ableto makeknownto me the interpretation;but you are able,for a spiritof the holygodsis in you.'

"The first[was] like a lionand had [the] wingsof an eagle.I keptlookinguntilits wingswere plucked,and it was liftedup from the groundand madeto standon two feetlike a man;a humanmindalso was givento it.
