Danielansweredbeforethe kingand said,"As for the mysteryabout whichthe kinghas inquired,neitherwisemen,conjurers,magicians[nor] divinersare ableto declare[it] to the king.
Then they saidto him, "We have hada dreamand thereis nooneto interpretit." Then Josephsaidto them, "Do not interpretationsbelong to God?Tell[it] to me, please."
Now in the morninghis spiritwas troubled,so he sentand calledfor allthe magiciansof Egypt,and allits wisemen.And Pharaohtoldthem his dreams,but therewas noonewho could interpretthem to Pharaoh.
"Then the spiritof the Egyptianswill be demoralizedwithinthem; And I will confoundtheir strategy,So that they will resortto idolsand ghostsof the deadAnd to mediumsand spiritists.
Causing the omensof boastersto fail,Makingfoolsout of diviners,Causing wisemento drawbackAnd turningtheir knowledgeinto foolishness,
Whowould not fearYou, O Kingof the nations?Indeedit is Your due!For among allthe wisemenof the nationsAnd in alltheir kingdoms,Thereis nonelikeYou.
As for everymatterof wisdomand understandingabout whichthe kingconsultedthem, he foundthem tentimesbetterthanallthe magicians[and] conjurerswho[were] in allhis realm.
Then the kinggaveordersto callin the magicians,the conjurers,the sorcerersand the Chaldeansto tellthe kinghis dreams.So they camein and stoodbeforethe king.
"Thenthe magicians,the conjurers,the Chaldeansand the divinerscamein and I relatedthe dreamto them, but they could not makeits interpretationknownto me.
