But nowyou also,putthem allaside:anger,wrath,malice,slander,[and] abusive speechfrom your mouth.
Let nounwholesomewordproceedfrom your mouth,but onlysuch[a word] as is goodfor edificationaccording to the need[of the moment], sothat it will givegraceto thosewho hear.
that, in referenceto your formermanner of life,you lay asidethe oldself,which is being corruptedin accordancewith the lustsof deceit,
and [there must be no] filthinessand silly talk,orcoarse jesting,whichare not fitting,but rathergiving of thanks.
Thereforeconsiderthe membersof your earthlybody as deadto immorality,impurity,passion,evildesire,and greed,whichamountsto idolatry.
BE ANGRY,AND [yet] DO NOT SIN;do not let the sungo downon your anger,
Therefore,since we haveso greata cloudof witnessessurroundingus, let us alsolay asideeveryencumbranceand the sinwhich so easily entanglesus, and let us runwith endurancethe racethat is set beforeus,
An angrymanstirsup strife,And a hot-temperedmanaboundsin transgression.
Do not lieto one another,since you laid asidethe oldselfwith its [evil] practices,
Therefore,putting asideallmaliceand alldeceitand hypocrisyand envyand allslander,
For I am afraidthat perhapswhen I comeI may findyou to be not whatI wishand may be foundby you to be not whatyou wish;that perhaps[there will be] strife,jealousy,angry tempers,disputes,slanders,gossip,arrogance,disturbances;
for you are stillfleshly.For sincethere is jealousyand strifeamongyou, are you not fleshly,and are you not walkinglikemere men?
"But I sayto you that everyonewho is angrywith his brothershall be guiltybefore the court;and whoeversaysto his brother,You good-for-nothing,'shall be guiltybefore the supreme court;and whoeversays,'You fool,'shall be guilty[enough to go] into the fieryhell.
Ceasefrom angerand forsakewrath;Do not fret;[it leads] onlyto evildoing.
But ifyou biteand devouroneanother,take carethat you are not consumedby one another.
Let us behaveproperlyas in the day,not in carousingand drunkenness,not in sexual promiscuityand sensuality,not in strifeand jealousy.
The beginningof strifeis [like] lettingout water,So abandonthe quarrelbeforeit breaksout.
Yetin the same waythese men,alsoby dreaming,defilethe flesh,and rejectauthority,and revileangelic majesties.
For speakingout arrogant[words] of vanitythey enticeby fleshlydesires,by sensuality,thosewho barelyescapefrom the ones who livein error,
Do they not blasphemethe fairnameby which you have been called?
Among theseare Hymenaeusand Alexander,whomI have handed overto Satan,sothat they will be taughtnot to blaspheme.
even though I was formerlya blasphemerand a persecutorand a violent aggressor.YetI was shown mercybecauseI actedignorantlyin unbelief;
Let us not becomeboastful,challengingoneanother,envyingone another.
idolatry,sorcery,enmities,strife,jealousy,outbursts of anger,disputes,dissensions,factions,
deeds of coveting[and] wickedness,[as well] [as] deceit,sensuality,envy,slander,pride[and] foolishness.
Menwere scorchedwith fierceheat;and they blasphemedthe nameof Godwho hasthe powerovertheseplagues,and they did not repentso as to giveHim glory.
[A man of] greatangerwill bearthe penalty,For ifyou rescue[him], you will only have to doit again.
wildwavesof the sea,castingup their ownshamelike foam;wanderingstars,for whomthe blackdarknesshas been reservedforever.
and [if] He rescuedrighteousLot,oppressedby the sensualconductof unprincipled men
Therefore,laying asidefalsehood,SPEAKTRUTHEACH ONE[of you] WITH HIS NEIGHBOR,for we are membersof one another.
