Then KingZedekiahgavecommandment,and they committedJeremiahto the courtof the guardhouseand gavehim a loafof breaddailyfrom the bakers'street,untilallthe breadin the citywas gone.So Jeremiahremainedin the courtof the guardhouse.
So they pulledJeremiahup with the ropesand liftedhim out of the cistern,and Jeremiahstayedin the courtof the guardhouse.
He saidto them, "Come,and you will see."Sothey cameand sawwhereHe was staying;and they stayedwith Him that day,for it was aboutthe tenthhour.
Nowafterthese thingswere finished,Paulpurposedin the spiritto goto Jerusalemafter he had passed throughMacedoniaand Achaia,saying,"AfterI have beenthere,I mustalsoseeRome."
But after two yearshad passed,Felixwas succeededby PorciusFestus,and wishingto dothe Jewsa favor,FelixleftPaulimprisoned.
Whenwe enteredRome,Paulwas allowedto stayby himself,with the soldierwho was guardinghim.
[When he had spokenthesewords, the Jewsdeparted,havinga greatdisputeamongthemselves].
preachingthe kingdomof Godand teachingconcerningthe LordJesusChristwith allopenness,unhindered.
sothat I may cometo you in joyby the willof Godand find [refreshing] restin your company.
Are they servantsof Christ?--I speakas if insane--I more so;in far morelabors,in far moreimprisonments,beatentimes without number,oftenin danger of death.
in beatings,in imprisonments,in tumults,in labors,in sleeplessness,in hunger,
sothat my imprisonmentin [the cause of] Christhas becomewell knownthroughoutthe wholepraetorian guardand to everyoneelse,
but when he was in Rome,he eagerlysearchedfor me and foundme--
preachthe word;be readyin season[and] out of season;reprove,rebuke,exhort,with greatpatienceand instruction.
