Whenwe enteredRome,Paulwas allowedto stayby himself,with the soldierwho was guardinghim.
The nextday we putin at Sidon;and JuliustreatedPaulwith considerationand allowedhim to goto his friendsand receivecare.
Thenhe gave ordersto the centurionfor him to be kept in custodyand [yet] have[some] freedom,and not to preventanyof his friendsfrom ministeringto him.
"The womanwhomyou sawis the greatcity,which reignsoverthe kingsof the earth."
"Hereis the mindwhich haswisdom.The sevenheadsare sevenmountainson whichthe womansits,
but the centurion,wantingto bringPaulsafely through,keptthem from their intention,and commandedthat thosewho couldswimshould jump overboardfirstand getto land,
Paulsaidto the centurionand to the soldiers,"Unlessthese menremainin the ship,you yourselvescannotbe saved."
But on the night[immediately] following,the Lordstoodat his side and said,"Take courage;for as you have solemnly witnessedto My causeat Jerusalem,soyou mustwitnessat Romealso."
Nowafterthese thingswere finished,Paulpurposedin the spiritto goto Jerusalemafter he had passed throughMacedoniaand Achaia,saying,"AfterI have beenthere,I mustalsoseeRome."
And he founda JewnamedAquila,a nativeof Pontus,having recentlycomefrom Italywith his wifePriscilla,becauseClaudiushad commandedallthe Jewsto leaveRome.He cameto them,
Phrygiaand Pamphylia,Egyptand the districtsof LibyaaroundCyrene,and visitorsfrom Rome,bothJewsand proselytes,
Now the captainof the bodyguardhad takenJeremiahand saidto him, "The LORDyour Godpromisedthiscalamityagainstthisplace;
Now on the seventhday of the fifthmonth,whichwas the nineteenthyearof KingNebuchadnezzar,kingof Babylon,Nebuzaradanthe captainof the guard,a servantof the kingof Babylon,cameto Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, the Midianitessoldhim in Egyptto Potiphar,Pharaoh'sofficer,the captainof the bodyguard.
So they pulledJeremiahup with the ropesand liftedhim out of the cistern,and Jeremiahstayedin the courtof the guardhouse.
