"For David,after he had servedthe purposeof Godin his owngeneration,fell asleep,and was laidamonghis fathersand underwentdecay;
By the sweatof your faceYou will eatbread,Tillyou returnto the ground,Becausefrom it you were taken;For you are dust,And to dustyou shall return."
"Whenyour daysare completeand you liedownwith your fathers,I will raiseup your descendantafteryou, whowill comeforthfrom you, and I will establishhis kingdom.
Then Davidsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin the cityof David.
"In timespast,evenwhen Saulwas king,you [were] the one who ledout and broughtin Israel;and the LORDyour Godsaidto you, 'You shall shepherdMy peopleIsrael,and you shall be princeoverMy peopleIsrael.'"
"Whenyour daysare fulfilledthat you must go[to be] with your fathers,that I will setup [one of] your descendantsafteryou, whowill be of your sons;and I will establishhis kingdom.
So DavidreignedoverallIsrael;and he administeredjusticeand righteousnessfor allhis people.
Then he diedin a ripeoldage,fullof days,richesand honor;and his sonSolomonreignedin his place.
And Rehoboamsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin the cityof David;and his sonAbijahbecamekingin his place.
Then Jehoshaphatsleptwith his fathersand was buriedwith his fathersin the cityof David,and Jehoramhis sonbecamekingin his place.
So Uzziahsleptwith his fathers,and they buriedhim with his fathersin the fieldof the gravewhichbelonged to the kings,for they said,"He is a leper."And Jothamhis sonbecamekingin his place.
And Solomonsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin the cityof his fatherDavid;and his sonRehoboamreignedin his place.
If I callto the pit,'You are my father;To the worm,'my motherand my sister';
"Togetherthey liedownin the dust,And wormscoverthem.
As sheepthey are appointedfor Sheol;Deathshall be their shepherd;And the uprightshall ruleover them in the morning,And their formshall be for Sheolto consumeSothat they have nohabitation.
That he should liveon eternally,That he should not undergodecay.
"Immediatelythe one who had receivedthe fivetalentswentand tradedwith them, and gainedfivemoretalents.
Jesussaid,"Removethe stone."Martha,the sisterof the deceased,saidto Him, "Lord,by this timethere will be a stench,for he has been[dead] four days."
"AfterHe had removedhim, He raisedup Davidto be their king,concerning whomHe alsotestifiedand said,I HAVE FOUNDDAVIDthe son of Jesse,A MANAFTERMY HEART,whowill doallMy will.'
"Brethren,I mayconfidentlysayto you regardingthe patriarchDavidthat he bothdiedand was buried,and his tombis with us to thisday.
"For I did not shrinkfrom declaringto you the wholepurposeof God.
Thenfallingon his knees,he criedout with a loudvoice,"Lord,do not holdthissinagainst them!" Having saidthis,he fell asleep.
Saulwas in hearty agreementwith putting him to death.And on that daya greatpersecutionbeganagainstthe churchin Jerusalem,and they were allscatteredthroughoutthe regionsof Judeaand Samaria,exceptthe apostles.
Thenthosealsowho have fallen asleepin Christhave perished.
Afterthat He appearedto more thanfive hundredbrethrenat one time,mostof whomremainuntilnow,but somehave fallen asleep;
But we do not wantyou to be uninformed,brethren,aboutthosewho are asleep,sothat you will not grieveas do the restwho havenohope.
