Thenthe proconsulbelievedwhen he sawwhat had happened,being amazedat the teachingof the Lord.
Nowthe centurion,and thosewho were with him keeping guard overJesus,when they sawthe earthquakeand the things that were happening,became veryfrightenedand said,"Trulythiswas the Sonof God!"
And allwere speaking wellof Him, and wonderingat the graciouswordswhich were fallingfrom His lips;and they were saying,"Is thisnot Joseph'sson?"
Feargrippedthem all,and they [began] glorifyingGod,saying,"A greatprophethas arisenamongus!" and, "Godhas visitedHis people!"
The officersanswered,"Neverhas a manspokenthe way thismanspeaks."
When the Gentilesheardthis, they [began] rejoicingand glorifyingthe wordof the Lord;and as manyas had beenappointedto eternallifebelieved.
And the wordof the Lordwas being spreadthroughthe wholeregion.
whowas with the proconsul,SergiusPaulus,a manof intelligence.This mansummonedBarnabasand Sauland soughtto hearthe wordof God.
But Elymasthe magician(for sohis nameis translated)was opposingthem, seekingto turnthe proconsulawayfrom the faith.
But Pauland Barnabasstayedin Antioch,teachingand preachingwith manyothersalso,the wordof the Lord.
AftersomedaysPaulsaidto Barnabas,"Let us returnand visitthe brethrenin everycityin whichwe proclaimedthe wordof the Lord,[and see] howthey are."
But while Galliowas proconsulof Achaia,the Jewswith one accordrose up againstPauland broughthim beforethe judgment seat,
Thistook placefor twoyears,sothat allwho livedin Asiaheardthe wordof the Lord,bothJewsand Greeks.
Sothe wordof the Lordwas growingmightilyand prevailing.
"So then,ifDemetriusand the craftsmenwho are with him havea complaintagainstany man,the courtsare in sessionand proconsulsare [available]; let them bring charges againstone another.
