from Aramand Moaband the sonsof Ammonand the Philistinesand Amalek,and from the spoilof Hadadezer,sonof Rehob,kingof Zobah.

When the sonsof Ammonsawthat the Arameansfled,they [also] fledbeforeAbishaiand enteredthe city.Then Joabreturnedfrom [fighting] againstthe sonsof Ammonand cameto Jerusalem.
He defeatedMoab,and measuredthem with the line,making them liedownon the ground;and he measuredtwolinesto putto deathand one fulllineto keepalive.And the Moabitesbecameservantsto David,bringingtribute.
KingDavidalsodedicatedthese to the LORDwith the silverand the goldwhichhe had carriedaway from allthe nations:from Edom,Moab,the sonsof Ammon,the Philistines,and from Amalek.
He capturedAgagthe kingof the Amalekitesalive,and utterlydestroyedallthe peoplewith the edgeof the sword.
Now Davidand his menwentup and raidedthe Geshuritesand the Girzitesand the Amalekites;for they were the inhabitantsof the landfrom ancienttimes,as you cometo Shureven as faras the landof Egypt.
Davidslaughteredthem from the twilightuntilthe eveningof the nextday;and not a manof them escaped,exceptfourhundredyoungmenwhorodeon camelsand fled.
So Davidhad capturedallthe sheepand the cattle[which the people] droveaheadof the [other] livestock,and they said,"Thisis David'sspoil."
