So Baashakilledhim in the thirdyearof Asakingof Judahand reignedin his place.
Then Zimriwentin and struckhim and puthim to deathin the twenty-seventhyearof Asakingof Judah,and becamekingin his place.
When Zimrisawthat the citywas taken,he wentinto the citadelof the king'shouseand burnedthe king'shouseoverhim with fire,and died,
The LORDsaidto him, "Go,returnon your wayto the wildernessof Damascus,and when you have arrived,you shall anointHazaelkingoverAram;
Then Pekahsonof Remaliah,his officer,conspiredagainsthim and struckhim in Samaria,in the castleof the king'shousewith Argoband Arieh;and with him were fiftymenof the Gileadites,and he killedhim and becamekingin his place.
And Hosheathe sonof Elahmadea conspiracyagainstPekahthe sonof Remaliah,and struckhim and puthim to deathand becamekingin his place,in the twentiethyearof Jothamthe sonof Uzziah.
Then Elishasaidto him, "Go,sayto him, 'You will surelyrecover,'but the LORDhas shownme that he will certainlydie."
Then Hazaelsaid,"But whatis your servant,[who is but] a dog,that he should dothisgreatthing?"And Elishaanswered,"The LORDhas shownme that you will be kingoverAram."
Then he wentwith Joramthe sonof Ahabto waragainstHazaelkingof Aramat Ramoth-gilead,and the ArameanswoundedJoram.
And Jehudrewhis bowwith his fullstrengthand shotJorambetweenhis arms;and the arrowwentthroughhis heartand he sankin his chariot.
He planswickednessupon his bed;He setshimself on a paththat is not good;He does not despiseevil.
Woeto you, O destroyer,While you were not destroyed;And he who is treacherous,while [others] did not dealtreacherouslywith him. As soon as you finishdestroying,you will be destroyed;As soon as you ceaseto dealtreacherously,[others] will dealtreacherouslywith you.
Woeto those who schemeiniquity,Who workout evilon their beds!When morningcomes, they doit, For it is in the powerof their hands.
