So he departedfrom Elishaand returnedto his master,who saidto him, "Whatdid Elishasayto you?" And he answered,"He toldme that you would surelyrecover."
But he wentin and stoodbeforehis master.And Elishasaidto him, "Wherehave you been, Gehazi?"And he said,"Your servantwentnowhere."
Then Elishasaidto him, "Go,sayto him, 'You will surelyrecover,'but the LORDhas shownme that he will certainlydie."
On the followingday,he tookthe coverand dippedit in waterand spreadit on his face,so that he died.And Hazaelbecamekingin his place.
From thenon he [began] lookingfor a good opportunityto betrayJesus.
