Now Ben-hadadkingof Aramgatheredallhis army,and there [were] thirty-twokingswith him, and horsesand chariots.And he wentup and besiegedSamariaand foughtagainst it.
Now the servantsof the kingof Aramsaidto him, "Their godsare godsof the mountains,thereforethey were strongerthanwe; but ratherlet us fightagainstthem in the plain,[and] surelywe will be strongerthanthey.
[Ben-hadad] saidto him, "The citieswhichmy fathertookfrom your fatherI will restore,and you shall makestreetsfor yourself in Damascus,as my fathermadein Samaria."[Ahab said], "And I will letyou gowith this covenant."So he madea covenantwith him and lethim go.

Now the kingof Aramhad commandedthe thirty-twocaptainsof his chariots,saying,"Do not fightwith smallor great,but with the kingof Israelalone."
Now it cameabout afterthis,that Ben-hadadkingof Aramgatheredallhis armyand wentup and besiegedSamaria.
He said,"Takeit up for yourself." So he putout his handand tookit.
The manof Godsent[word] to the kingof Israelsaying,"Bewarethat you do not passthisplace,for the Arameansare comingdownthere."
