Now Naaman,captainof the armyof the kingof Aram,was a greatmanwith his master,and highly respected,becauseby him the LORDhad givenvictoryto Aram.The manwas also a valiantwarrior,[but he was] a leper.
"And there were manylepersin Israelin the timeof Elishathe prophet;and noneof them was cleansed,but onlyNaamanthe Syrian."
For I will not presumeto speakof anythingexceptwhatChristhas accomplishedthroughme, resultingin the obedienceof the Gentilesby wordand deed,
The horseis preparedfor the dayof battle,But victorybelongs to the LORD.
Indeed,Mordecaiwas greatin the king'shouse,and his famespreadthroughout allthe provinces;for the manMordecaibecamegreaterand greater.
"Onlyyou did not gonearto the landof the sonsof Ammon,allalongthe riverJabbokand the citiesof the hillcountry,and whereverthe LORDour Godhad commandedus.
For Mordecaithe Jewwas second[only] to KingAhasuerus,and greatamong the Jewsand in favorwith his manykinsmen,one who soughtthe goodof his peopleand one who spokefor the welfareof his wholenation.
Now there camea daywhen Elishapassedoverto Shunem,wherethere was a prominentwoman,and she persuadedhim to eatfood.And so it was, as oftenas he passedby, he turnedin thereto eatfood.
The LORDgavethe peoplefavorin the sightof the Egyptians.Furthermore,the manMoses[himself] was greatlyesteemed in the landof Egypt,[both] in the sightof Pharaoh'sservantsand in the sightof the people.
Because of the surpassing greatnessof the revelations,for this reason,to keepme from exaltingmyself, there was givenme a thornin the flesh,a messengerof Satanto tormentme-- to keepme from exaltingmyself!
Jesusanswered,"You would havenoauthorityoverMe, unlessit had beengivenyou from above;for thisreasonhe who deliveredMe to you has[the] greatersin."
Now there were fourleprousmenat the entranceof the gate;and they saidto oneanother,"Whydo we sithereuntilwe die?
"May it fallon the headof Joaband on allhis father'shouse;and may there not failfrom the houseof Joabone who has a discharge,or who is a leper,or who takesholdof a distaff,or who fallsby the sword,or who lacksbread."
"Therefore, the leprosyof Naamanshall clingto you and to your descendantsforever."So he wentout from his presencea leper[as white] as snow.
Now the Arameanshad goneout in bandsand had takencaptivea littlegirlfrom the landof Israel;and she waitedon Naaman'swife.
