Then they said,"Thisis blood;the kingshave surelyfoughttogether,and they have slainoneanother.Nowtherefore, Moab,to the spoil!"
They roseearlyin the morning,and the sunshoneon the water,and the Moabitessawthe wateropposite[them] as redas blood.
But when they cameto the campof Israel,the Israelitesaroseand struckthe Moabites,so that they fledbeforethem; and they wentforward into the land, slaughteringthe Moabites.
For the Lordhad caused the armyof the Arameansto heara soundof chariotsand a soundof horses,[even] the soundof a greatarmy,so that they saidto oneanother,"Behold,the kingof Israelhas hiredagainstus the kingsof the Hittitesand the kingsof the Egyptians,to comeupon us."
When Jehoshaphatand his peoplecameto taketheir spoil,they foundmuchamong them, [including] goods,garmentsand valuablethingswhich they tookfor themselves, more thanthey could carry.And they were threedaystakingthe spoilbecausethere was so much.
"The enemysaid,'I will pursue,I will overtake,I will dividethe spoil;My desireshall be gratifiedagainst them; I will drawout my sword,my handwill destroythem.'
And my handreachedto the richesof the peopleslike a nest,And as one gathersabandonedeggs,I gatheredallthe earth;And there was not one that flappedits wingor opened[its] beakor chirped."
Are they not finding,are they not dividingthe spoil?A maiden,two maidensfor everywarrior;To Siseraa spoilof dyedwork,A spoilof dyedworkembroidered,Dyedworkof double embroideryon the neckof the spoiler?'
