He didawaywith the horseswhichthe kingsof Judahhad givento the sun,at the entranceof the houseof the LORD,by the chamberof Nathan-melechthe official,which[was] in the precincts;and he burnedthe chariotsof the sunwith fire.
He didawaywith the idolatrouspriestswhomthe kingsof Judahhad appointedto burnincensein the highplacesin the citiesof Judahand in the surroundingareaof Jerusalem,also those who burnedincenseto Baal,to the sunand to the moonand to the constellationsand to allthe hostof heaven.
At the Parbaron the west[there were] fourat the highwayand twoat the Parbar.
He also removedthe highplacesand the incensealtarsfrom allthe citiesof Judah.And the kingdomwas undisturbedunderhim.
They toredownthe altarsof the Baalsin his presence,and the incensealtarsthat were highabovethem he choppeddown;also the Asherim,the carvedimagesand the moltenimageshe brokein piecesand groundto powderand scattered[it] on the gravesof those who had sacrificedto them.
IfI have lookedat the sunwhenit shoneOr the moongoingin splendor,
Then he broughtme into the outercourt,and behold,[there were] chambersand a pavementmadefor the courtallaround;thirtychambersfacedthe pavement.
Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
