Now afterAmaziahcamefrom slaughteringthe Edomites,he broughtthe godsof the sonsof Seir,setthem up as his gods,boweddownbeforethem and burnedincenseto them.
Through insolencecomesnothingbut strife,But wisdomis with those who receivecounsel.
The beginningof strifeis [like] lettingout water,So abandonthe quarrelbeforeit breaksout.
A fool'slipsbringstrife,And his mouthcallsfor blows.
Prepareplansby consultation,And makewarby wiseguidance.
Do not goout hastilyto argue[your case]; Otherwise,whatwill you doin the end,When your neighborhumiliatesyou?
"Would,therefore, that thispeoplewere under my authority!Then I would removeAbimelech."And he saidto Abimelech,"Increaseyour armyand comeout."
