But ifthe ministryof death,in lettersengravedon stones,camewith glory,sothat the sonsof Israelcouldnot look intentlyat the faceof Mosesbecauseof the gloryof his face,fading[as] it was,
but whenthe perfectcomes,the partialwill be done away.
For Christis the endof the lawfor righteousnessto everyonewho believes.
When He had finishedspeakingwith him upon MountSinai,He gaveMosesthe twotabletsof the testimony,tabletsof stone,writtenby the fingerof God.
whoalsomade us adequate[as] servantsof a newcovenant,not of the letterbut of the Spirit;for the letterkills,but the Spiritgives life.
being manifestedthat you are a letterof Christ,caredfor by us, writtennot with inkbut with the Spiritof the livingGod,not on tabletsof stonebut on tabletsof humanhearts.
Now the LORDsaidto Moses,"Comeup to Me on the mountainand remainthere,and I will giveyou the stonetabletswith the lawand the commandmentwhichI have writtenfor their instruction."
for the Lawbrings aboutwrath,but wherethere is nolaw,there also is noviolation.
O howI loveYour law!It is my meditationallthe day.
and thiscommandment,which was to resultin life,provedto resultin deathfor me;
And fixing their gazeon him, allwho were sittingin the Councilsawhis facelikethe faceof an angel.
I longfor Your salvation,O LORD,And Your lawis my delight.
"So I turnedand camedownfrom the mountainwhile the mountainwas burningwith fire,and the twotabletsof the covenantwere in my twohands.
For I joyfully concurwith the lawof Godin the innerman,
"So He declaredto you His covenantwhichHe commandedyou to perform,[that is], the TenCommandments;and He wrotethem on twotabletsof stone.
Now the LORDsaidto Moses,"Cutout for yourself twostonetabletslike the formerones,and I will writeon the tabletsthe wordsthat were on the formertabletswhichyou shattered.
It cameabout, as soonas Moses camenearthe camp,that he sawthe calfand [the] dancing;and Moses'angerburned,and he threwthe tabletsfrom his handsand shatteredthem at the footof the mountain.
The LORDGodmadegarmentsof skinfor Adamand his wife,and clothedthem.
havinga goldenaltar of incenseand the arkof the covenantcoveredon all sideswith gold,in whichwas a goldenjarholdingthe manna,and Aaron'srodwhich budded,and the tablesof the covenant;
"Then You camedownon MountSinai,And spokewith them from heaven;You gavethem justordinancesand true laws,Goodstatutesand commandments.
"Or whatgreatnationis there that has statutesand judgmentsas righteousas thiswholelawwhichI am settingbeforeyou today?
"Thesewordsthe LORDspoketo allyour assemblyat the mountainfrom the midstof the fire,[of] the cloudand [of] the thickgloom,with a greatvoice,and He addednomore.He wrotethem on twotabletsof stoneand gavethem to me.
The Lawcamein sothat the transgressionwould increase;but wheresinincreased,graceabounded all the more,
For whilewe were in the flesh,the sinfulpassions,which were [aroused] by the Law,were at workin the membersof our body to bear fruitfor death.
howwill the ministryof the Spiritfailto be even morewith glory?
For as manyas are of the worksof the Laware undera curse;for it is written,"CURSEDIS EVERYONEWHODOES NOT ABIDEBY ALL THINGSWRITTENIN THE BOOKOF THE LAW,TO PERFORMTHEM."
Is the Lawthencontraryto the promisesof God?May it neverbe! For ifa lawhad been givenwhich was ableto impart life,then righteousnesswould indeedhave beenbasedon law.
For He has been counted worthyof moreglorythanMoses,by justso muchas the builderof the househasmorehonorthan the house.
For you have not cometo [a mountain] that can be touchedand to a blazingfire,and to darknessand gloomand whirlwind,
