Now in the eighteenthyearof his reign,when he had purgedthe landand the house,he sentShaphanthe sonof Azaliah,and Maaseiahan officialof the city,and Joahthe sonof Joahazthe recorder,to repairthe houseof the LORDhis God.
and Adoramwas overthe forcedlabor,and Jehoshaphatthe sonof Ahiludwas the recorder;
Joabthe sonof Zeruiah[was] overthe army,and Jehoshaphatthe sonof Ahilud[was] recorder.

Then the kingof Israelsaid,"TakeMicaiahand returnhim to Amonthe governorof the cityand to Joashthe king'sson;
The kingand Jehoiadagaveit to those who didthe workof the serviceof the houseof the LORD;and they hiredmasonsand carpentersto restorethe houseof the LORD,and alsoworkersin ironand bronzeto repairthe houseof the LORD.
He gatheredthe priestsand Levitesand saidto them, "Goout to the citiesof Judahand collectmoneyfrom allIsraelto repairthe houseof your Godannually,and you shall dothe matterquickly."But the Levitesdid not actquickly.
The wordwhichcameto Jeremiahfrom the LORDwhen KingZedekiahsentto him Pashhurthe sonof Malchijah,and Zephaniahthe priest,the sonof Maaseiah,saying,
"From the thirteenthyearof Josiahthe sonof Amon,kingof Judah,even to thisday,thesetwenty-threeyearsthe wordof the LORDhas cometo me, and I have spokento you againand again,but you have not listened.
But the handof Ahikamthe sonof Shaphanwas with Jeremiah,so that he was not giveninto the handsof the peopleto puthim to death.
"Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,concerningAhabthe sonof Kolaiahand concerningZedekiahthe sonof Maaseiah,who are prophesyingto you falselyin My name,'Behold,I will deliverthem into the handof Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylon,and he will slaythem before your eyes.
"Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,'Becauseyou have sentlettersin your own nameto allthe peoplewhoare in Jerusalem,and to Zephaniahthe sonof Maaseiah,the priest,and to allthe priests,saying,
[The letter was sent] by the handof Elasahthe sonof Shaphan,and Gemariahthe sonof Hilkiah,whomZedekiahkingof Judahsentto Babylonto Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylon,saying,
Then Baruchreadfrom the bookthe wordsof Jeremiahin the houseof the LORDin the chamberof Gemariahthe sonof Shaphanthe scribe,in the uppercourt,at the entryof the NewGateof the LORD'Shouse,to allthe people.
they even sentand tookJeremiahout of the courtof the guardhouseand entrustedhim to Gedaliah,the sonof Ahikam,the sonof Shaphan,to takehim home.So he stayedamongthe people.
Likewise, alsoallthe Jewswhowere in Moaband among the sonsof Ammonand in Edomand whowere in allthe [other] countries,heardthat the kingof Babylonhad lefta remnantfor Judah,and that he had appointedoverthem Gedaliahthe sonof Ahikam,the sonof Shaphan.
Standingin frontof them were seventyeldersof the houseof Israel,with Jaazaniahthe sonof Shaphanstandingamongthem, eachmanwith his censerin his handand the fragranceof the cloudof incenserising.
