"Behold,I will gatheryou to your fathersand you shall be gatheredto your gravein peace,so your eyeswill not seeallthe evilwhichI will bringon thisplaceand on its inhabitants."'"And they broughtbackwordto the king.
"Do you seehowAhabhas humbledhimself beforeMe? Becausehe has humbledhimself beforeMe, I will not bringthe evilin his days,[but] I will bringthe evilupon his housein his son'sdays."
Then Hezekiahsaidto Isaiah,"The wordof the LORDwhichyou have spokenis good."For he thought,"Is it not so, ifthere will be peaceand truthin my days?"
"Therefore,behold,I will gatheryou to your fathers,and you will be gatheredto your gravein peace,and your eyeswill not seeallthe evilwhichI will bringon thisplace."'"So they broughtbackwordto the king.
However, Hezekiahhumbledthe prideof his heart,both he and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,so that the wrathof the LORDdid not comeon them in the daysof Hezekiah.
"Becauseyour heartwas tenderand you humbledyourselfbeforeGodwhen you heardHis wordsagainstthisplaceand againstits inhabitants,and [because] you humbledyourselfbeforeMe, toreyour clothesand weptbeforeMe, I trulyhave heardyou," declaresthe LORD.
Then the kingsentand gatheredallthe eldersof Judahand Jerusalem.
So his servantstookhim out of the chariotand carriedhim in the secondchariotwhichhe had, and broughthim to Jerusalemwhere he diedand was buriedin the tombsof his fathers.AllJudahand Jerusalemmournedfor Josiah.
Markthe blamelessman,and beholdthe upright;For the manof peacewill have a posterity.

Then the LORDsaidto me, "Even thoughMosesand Samuelwere to standbeforeMe, My heartwould not be with thispeople;sendthem awayfrom My presenceand let them go!
