He criedagainstthe altarby the wordof the LORD,and said,"O altar,altar,thussaysthe LORD,'Behold,a sonshall be bornto the houseof David,Josiahby name;and on you he shall sacrificethe priestsof the highplaceswho burnincenseon you, and humanbonesshall be burnedon you.'"
Then the kingsent,and they gatheredto him allthe eldersof Judahand of Jerusalem.
Joash[was] sevenyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedfortyyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'sname[was] Zibiahfrom Beersheba.
And allthe peopleof JudahtookUzziah,who[was] sixteenyearsold,and madehim kingin the placeof his fatherAmaziah.
Manassehwas twelveyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedfifty-fiveyearsin Jerusalem.
But the peopleof the landkilledallthe conspiratorsagainstKingAmon,and the peopleof the landmadeJosiahhis sonkingin his place.
A pooryet wiseladis betterthanan oldand foolishkingwhonolongerknows[how] to receiveinstruction.
to whomthe wordof the LORDcamein the daysof Josiahthe sonof Amon,kingof Judah,in the thirteenthyearof his reign.
"From the thirteenthyearof Josiahthe sonof Amon,kingof Judah,even to thisday,thesetwenty-threeyearsthe wordof the LORDhas cometo me, and I have spokento you againand again,but you have not listened.
Then the LORDsaidto me in the daysof Josiahthe king,"Have you seenwhatfaithlessIsraeldid?She wentup on everyhighhilland undereverygreentree,and she was a harlotthere.
The wordof the LORDwhichcameto Zephaniahsonof Cushi,sonof Gedaliah,sonof Amariah,sonof Hezekiah,in the daysof Josiahsonof Amon,kingof Judah:
"Immediatelythe one who had receivedthe fivetalentswentand tradedwith them, and gainedfivemoretalents.
Now Samuelwas ministeringbeforethe LORD,[as] a boywearinga linenephod.
Now the boySamuelwas growingin statureand in favorbothwith the LORDand with men.
