They buriedhim in the cityof Davidamongthe kings,becausehe had donewellin Israeland to Godand His house.
Then Davidsleptwith his fathersand was buriedin the cityof David.
Then KingJehoashcalledfor Jehoiadathe priest,and for the [other] priestsand saidto them, "Whydo you not repairthe damagesof the house?Nowtherefore takeno[more] moneyfrom your acquaintances,but payit for the damagesof the house."
He had brothers,the sonsof Jehoshaphat:Azariah,Jehiel,Zechariah,Azaryahu,Michaeland Shephatiah.Allthese[were] the sonsof Jehoshaphatkingof Israel.
He was thirty-twoyears oldwhen he becameking,and he reignedin Jerusalemeightyears;and he departedwith noone's regret,and they buriedhim in the cityof David,but not in the tombsof the kings.
Now when Jehoiadareacheda ripeoldagehe died;he was one hundredand thirtyyearsoldat his death.
But afterthe deathof Jehoiadathe officialsof Judahcameand boweddownto the king,and the kinglistenedto them.
ThusHezekiahdidthroughout allJudah;and he didwhat[was] good,rightand true beforethe LORDhis God.
Rememberme for this,O my God,and do not blotout my loyaldeedswhichI have performedfor the houseof my Godand its services.
When his disciplesheard[about this], they cameand took awayhis bodyand laidit in a tomb.
"Brethren,I mayconfidentlysayto you regardingthe patriarchDavidthat he bothdiedand was buried,and his tombis with us to thisday.
For Godis not unjustso as to forgetyour workand the lovewhichyou have showntowardHis name,in having ministeredand in still ministeringto the saints.
"Thereforethe LORDGodof Israeldeclares,I did indeedsaythat your houseand the houseof your fathershould walkbeforeMe forever;but nowthe LORDdeclares,'Farbe it from Me-- for those who honorMe I will honor,and those who despiseMe will be lightlyesteemed.
