Then the messengerwhowentto summonMicaiahspoketo him saying,"Behold,the wordsof the prophetsare uniformlyfavorableto the king.So pleaselet your wordbe like oneof them and speakfavorably."
Allthe prophetswere prophesyingthus,saying,"Goup to Ramoth-gileadand succeed,for the LORDwill give[it] into the handof the king."
But Micaiahsaid,"As the LORDlives,whatmy Godsays,that I will speak."
"You say,Whatdoes Godknow?Can He judgethroughthe thickdarkness?
He saysto himself,"Godhas forgotten;He has hiddenHis face;He will neverseeit."
Whosayto the seers,"You must not see[visions"]; And to the prophets,"You must not prophesyto us whatis right,Speakto us pleasantwords,Prophesyillusions.
With their wickednessthey makethe kingglad,And the princeswith their lies.
"But nolongerprophesyat Bethel,for it is a sanctuaryof the kingand a royalresidence."
"Ifa manwalkingafter windand falsehoodHad toldlies[and said], 'I will speakout to you concerning wineand liquor,'He would be spokesmanto thispeople.
Do not speakout,' [so] they speakout. [But if] they do not speakout concerning thesethings,Reproacheswill not be turnedback.
that they gatheredthemselves togetherwith oneaccordto fightwith Joshuaand with Israel.
